About the Role

What Being A Staff Backend Engineer At Playroll Entails

The marketing landscape is changing fast. AI tooling, automation, and low-code systems are reshaping what's possible and we're evolving with it. This role sits at the intersection of web development, AI-powered workflows, and growth experimentation. Our goal is to have agents handling the majority of marketing BAU — freeing the team to focus on strategy, creativity, and impact.

We're looking for someone who is part Webflow developer, part systems thinker, part agent builder — someone who gets genuinely excited about designing AI agents that run autonomously, wiring together Claude automations, and shipping web experiences that actually move the needle. You'll work closely with our Art Director, SEO Manager, Head of Marketing, content team and in-house Web Developer.If you love figuring out what's newly possible and building it before anyone else has a playbook for it, this is your role.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Design, build and deploy AI agents that handle recurring marketing tasks — research, briefing, reporting, content ops, and campaign workflows reducing manual load and creating leverage across the team
  • Design and implement AI-powered workflows and automations (using Claude, ChatGPT, Make, n8n, and similar tools) that make the marketing function faster and more effective
  • Build polished, responsive, high-performing pages in Webflow and translate Figma designs into clean, scalable, class-structured builds
  • Build and maintain low-code/no-code systems that connect our marketing stack and eliminate repetitive manual work
  • Identify and act on technical SEO opportunities across the Playroll site
  • Collaborate with Marketing to ship landing pages and campaigns efficiently
  • Proactively identify opportunities across the marketing function where AI or automation can create leverage and build the solution
  • Create and refine reusable components that make the site more consistent and easier to scale
  • Improve performance, responsiveness, and SEO health
