Playroll is looking for a strategic, technically sharp Senior SEO Specialist to sit at the intersection of SEO strategy, content, and analysis. We're looking for someone who can turn complex, regulated topics into scalable, high-performing SEO content systems; not just write content. This isn't a pure writing role or a pure SEO role — it's for someone who can do both well, and who understands how to connect content decisions to business outcomes. You'll be responsible for turning keyword data and search intent into clear, structured, decision-enabling content that drives rankings, traffic, and conversions. You'll work closely with the SEO manager and content teams to execute a content strategy that goes well beyond output volume.
What You'll Do
- Write accurate, well-researched SEO content on complex B2B topics including global payroll, EOR, compliance, and HR tech for sophisticated audiences.
- Develop structured content briefs from keyword clusters, focusing on search intent, on-page optimisation, internal linking, and conversion.
- Own bottom-of-funnel content production including solution pages, comparison pages, high-intent landing pages, product-led articles, and industry reports.
- Build scalable content templates and frameworks including wireframing, topic cluster mapping, and user journey design for content systems.
- Audit and re-optimise existing pages to improve rankings, engagement, conversion, and AI visibility through citations, mentions, and performance improvements.
- Apply AEO (Answer Engine Optimisation) principles and LLM ranking signal insights to continuously improve content strategy and execution.
- Conduct competitor research, SERP analysis, and trend monitoring to prioritise high-impact content opportunities and strategic gaps.
- Develop deep product and ICP understanding to produce content that reflects real product value rather than generic industry messaging.
- Use data from GSC, GA4, Semrush, and similar tools to guide keyword strategy, CTR optimisation, and conversion performance decisions.
What You'll Bring
- Apply hybrid thinking across content and analytics, working confidently in spreadsheets and documents while linking SEO signals to full funnel performance.
- Bring 4+ years of SEO content experience, ideally within a B2B SaaS environment.
- Produce proven, high-performing product-led content that ranks in search and drives conversions, not just fills content gaps.
- Apply strong SEO fundamentals including on-page optimisation, internal linking strategy, keyword research, topic clustering, and content architecture.
- Translate keyword data and search intent into clear, structured content briefs and scalable frameworks for execution.
- Write accurately about complex technical subject matter including HR tech, fintech, legal, and compliance topics.
- Conduct deep research by engaging with internal experts and external industry leaders to strengthen content authority.
- Demonstrate familiarity with AEO concepts and actively develop expertise in optimising content for LLM visibility and AI search performance.
- Data-aware: able to use tools like GA4, GSC, Ahrefs, or Semrush to analyse performance and make informed decisions.
- Strong project management instincts — able to prioritise, structure work, and deliver independently.
Bonus Points For
- Experience with global payroll, EOR, or HR tech content specifically.
- Experience with programmatic SEO or large-scale content systems.
- Hands-on experience with content wireframing or working alongside design and web teams on page builds.
- Familiarity with HubSpot CMS or similar platforms.
- Experience running or contributing to content audits and site-wide optimisation projects.
