We are Playroll, building the infrastructure for a borderless economy where people can work and thrive from anywhere. We take the complexity out of managing a global workforce and bring it into one seamless platform. Through our platform, we provide employer of record, payroll, and benefits services that enable companies to hire and manage people in over 180 countries, without the usual operational, legal, or administrative friction. We're looking for a dynamic, driven engineer to join our engineering team. You'll be an integral part of building and scaling the platform that powers everything we do, helping us deliver one of our most important strategic goals: creating the system that runs global employment at scale.
What You'll Do
- Develop and deploy our apps and platform, ensuring adherence to the highest coding, design, and quality standards.
- Optimize test, release, and deployment processes in collaboration with QA and platform engineering teams.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate business requirements into impactful technical solutions for users and clients.
- Mentor junior developers and actively contribute to strengthening and evolving our engineering culture.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying and sharing opportunities to enhance processes, platform performance, and team culture.
What You'll Bring
- Demonstrate experience as a senior or mid-level full stack developer with strong passion for software engineering and building high-quality products.
- Embrace a growth mindset, continuously developing technical knowledge, soft skills, and contributing positively to team learning and improvement.
- Improve products, processes, and ways of working by proactively identifying opportunities and sharing insights with your team.
- Apply proficiency across our tech stack, including TypeScript, NextJS/React, AWS Lambda/Step Functions, Postgres/Dynamo, CDK/ECS, and Playwright.
- Adapt quickly in a fast-paced, mission-driven, growth-focused environment, maintaining high standards under changing priorities.
- Work confidently with agentic development tools and AI-empowered engineering practices to enhance productivity and outcomes.
- Challenge existing architecture, processes, and workflows, proposing thoughtful, scalable improvements with confidence and clarity.
- Communicate ideas, solutions, and achievements effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and team members.
- Solve complex problems using strong analytical thinking and a structured, data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful, reliable, and scalable solutions.
