Responsibilities

What You'll Do

There's no checklist here because the best opportunities at Playroll often emerge from conversations, bold ideas, and problems you identify.

That said, here's what we're focused on as a company:

  • Building the compliance and payroll engine that handles 180+ countries, 60+ tax regimes, and the legal complexity that stops most companies from hiring globally.
  • Shipping products and workflows that make global hiring feel natural and fast.
  • Improving systems and processes that don't break as we scale.
  • Creating the infrastructure that enables our customers to focus on people rather than paperwork.
  • Thinking about what comes next in global work, such as how Playroll evolves, where the category goes, what builders should care about.

What you might do specifically depends on what excites you:

If you're a builder who wants to ship code that matters, you might architect workflows or automation. If you're a designer, you might rethink how complexity feels simple. If you're an operator, you might build the systems that keep us moving efficiently. If you're a marketer, you might tell the story of how global hiring is changing.

Skills & Experience

What You'll Bring

Minimum expectations:

  • A completed university degree or equivalent demonstrated experience that shows you can think and execute at a high level.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. You articulate ideas clearly and can explain complex things simply.
  • The ability to think independently and execute effectively. You don't need hand-holding, and you bias toward action.
  • A growth mindset and willingness to learn quickly. You know what you don't know and you're eager to fill the gaps.
  • Genuine interest in reshaping global work. You're not just looking for a job; you believe in the mission.

  • You've worked at a startup scaling from 0 to 1 or 1 to 10+. You understand what it takes to build something from nothing and iterate fast.
  • You've shipped in regulated environments. You've dealt with compliance, licensing, or legal constraints and know how to move fast without breaking.
  • You care about how work actually gets done. You've identified inefficiencies and built systems or tools to fix them.
